It is in perfect mechanical condition. The film compartment, battery compartment, pressure plate, mirror, and mirror box are all clean and in excellent condition. The viewfinder is clean and clear of dust.

The body is clean, with virtually no rubs or brassing. The lens mount is pristine and exacting. The levers, dials, and knobs all actuate as they should and operate with mechanical precision. The lens mount is equally pristine. The light meter also responds correctly, and exposure times are all accurate. The auto-exposure mode works perfectly.

The lens is in fantastic condition as well. There is very light scuffing on the focussing ring, though this has no impact on readability of numbers. The aperture blades are oil free and actuate perfectly. The glass is free of fungus, markings, or defects. The filter threads are in great shape, as is the mount and aperture/focus rings. 

This lens has an ultra fast aperture of 1.4, allowing amazing low-light performance, and is well suited for night time street photography when the available light is low. Also perfectly capable of standard snap shots, portrait work, sports photography, and more. This is a standard, all-purpose lens of exceptional quality. 

The lens produces exceptional images due to typically excellent Nikkor construction, featuring coated elements to reduce flaring, ghosting, chromatic aberration, and other optical artifacts. The build quality is fantastic, with a perfectly weighted focus throw and an aperture ring that clicks solidly into its detents. 

The Nikon FM2/T is commonly regarded as being among the very best mechanical Nikon SLRs, and many photographers consider it to be the best Nikon film camera ever made.
