The lens mount is pristine. The levers, dials, and knobs all actuate as they should and operate with mechanical precision. The light meter responds correctly, and exposure times are all accurate. The auto-exposure mode works perfectly.

The Nikon FE2 is commonly regarded as being among the very best electro-mechanical Nikon SLRs, and many photographers consider it to be among the best Nikon film cameras ever made.
