Here we have a Minolta Remote Shutter Release Cord Model RC-1000.

This cord connects to Minolta autofocus and digital cameras (Maxxum, etc) with suitable connectors and enables hands-free operation of AF and shutter. This is crucial for long-exposures and tripod shooting situations in which camera shake needs to be mitigated.  

Also compatible with Konica Minolta cameras (post-merger).
